We had such an enjoyable time at this year’s Friendship Banquet. Some of the evening’s highlights included a wonderful meal and over 280 guests. Our students did a great job of greeting and serving. The various choirs, student talent show numbers, and testimonies given were all outstanding.
The question “Why Faith” [watch our Why Faith video] was asked from a variety of viewpoints. As a new family – Why Faith? As a single parent – Why Faith? As a student and alumni – Why Faith? “WHY” should a person invest in Faith Christian School? With all of the educational options, what makes Faith not only the BEST choice but the RIGHT choice for parents?
First and foremost at Faith Christian School, we have the opportunity and freedom to be Christ-centered in EVERYTHING we do. When our students walk across the platform at graduation - - we want them to have a genuine, loving relationship with Jesus. Our school staff, faculty, administration, curriculum – everything about us is centrally focused on that mission!
Second is the issue of offering a relevant program. From our Preschool to our High School – we want our program, our subjects, our activities to be relevant to our students’ lives and futures. And while other schools are identifying programs to eliminate we want to continue to offer specialty classes in BIBLE, ART, MUSIC, and PHYSICAL EDUCATION, to continue to develop our students to be well-rounded citizens of the future. A new program that we are excited to offer next year is called J-Term. On the heels of Christmas Break, J Term will replace traditional classes for the first two weeks of January, challenging students in the areas of interest and giftedness. A combination of hands on classes, internships, and learning trips will broaden our student’s perspectives and ignite their passion for learning.
I was challenged by the love and commitment that was shown for Faith Christian School. The Lord allowed us to raise over $55,000 that evening and we are committed to continue to offer an excellent, Christ-centered, Christian school. We are blessed to have a tremendously dedicated staff of teachers and we want to compensate them adequately. We desire to have great academic and extra-curricular programs with wonderful facilities and resources. We also want to provide a Christ-centered education at an affordable cost to our families. If we want Christian education to flourish – we must ALL be willing to financially support it.
Praise God for His grace and His goodness that was evidenced by this year’s Friendship Banquet. Thank you to everyone who supported FCS with their attendance, their prayers, and their treasure. May God be glorified as we seek to continue to partner with parents to raise their children to live effectively in God’s world.
